Alekhine Nouri to play in World Juniors chess championship

MANILA---THE Philippines’ Fide Master Alekhine "BBking" Fabiosa Nouri will head to Italy with hopes of improving his world ranking aside from getting GM/IM norm and bringing more honors for the country.

Accompanied by his guardian/coach sportswriter and radio commentator Almario Marlon Quiroz Bernardino Jr. who is also a certified Filipino and United States chess master, fondly called BBking in the chess world will see action at the World Juniors Under 20 Chess Championships slated from October 11-23, this year in Sardinia, Italy.

Bbking is also scheduled to represent the country in the 33ste Open van Leuven to be held on November 10-13 in Leuven, Belgium.
His campaign internationally were supported by National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) Chairman/President Rep. Prospero "Butch" Arreza Pichay Jr., NCFP Vice President Sen. Emmanuel "Manny" D. Pacquiao Sr., NCFP chief operating officer (CEO) GM Jayson O. Gonzales, Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) President and former NCFP secretay-general Tagaytay City mayor Abraham "Bambol" N. Tolentino Jr., Negros Occidental governor Eugenio Jose "Bong" V. Lacson and the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) headed by its officer-in-charge (OIC) Atty. Guillermo B. Iroy Jr. and Commissioner Olivia “Bong” Coo.
Prior to Italy and Belgium international chess competition, BBking who hails from Escalante City, Negros Occidental will compete for next month Senator Manny Pacquiao and Businessman Changsuk Lyu Tuna Festival meet Tatluhan Chess Team Tournament in General Santos City from September 2-4, organized by United States chess master Rodolfo "Jun" Panopio Jr.

It shall be recalled that Bbking won the Philippine National Juniors Chess Championships at the Philippine Academy for Chess Excellence (PACE) in Quezon City in 2021. He bagged the gold medal in the standard competition enroute his ticket to the tough and prestigious World Juniors Under 20 Chess Championships.
The 16 years old former top player of Far Eastern University-FERN Diliman, Quezon City, who became the youngest Fide Master in the world at the age of seven back in 2013, also won the Grandmaster Attorney Rosendo Carreon Balinas Jr. online bullet chess online tournament held via Lichess.org in 2021 and the Governor Daniel R. Fernando 2nd Inter-Town Over The Board individual chess tournament held last February 19 and 20, 2022 at Provincial Capitol Gymnasium in Malolos City, Bulacan.

Currently, Bbking is residing in Quezon City and City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.-Marlon Bernardino-
