FLYWEIGHT April Jay “Astroboy” Abne of Manticao, Misamis Oriental threw better and clear punches to beat Christian “Chiquito” Bacolod of Manila in their 10-round non-title fight last August 7 in Sibonga in Cebu.
Abner beat Bacolod through his clear shots and punches. He also just tried to block Bacolod's fist.
“But thank you, because it was a great experience for me to get a fist from Bacolod,” said the 23-year-old Abne.
Abne now has 10 wins, one loss with five knockouts while the 27-year-old Bacolod suffered his second loss with 14 wins and 10 knockouts.
Meanwhile, light flyweight John Paul Gabunilas of Cebu stopped Ruben Dadivas of Davao City in the 8th round after Dadivas was declared unfit to continue from a cut on his left eyelid caused by a punch.
