Abne ready to face Bacolod in Sibonga

FLYWEIGHT April Jay “Astroboy” Abne of Manticao, Misamis Oriental is ready to face Christian “Chiquito” Bacolod of Manila in their 10-round non-title fight on August 7 at Sibonga in Cebu.
“I am ready now, this is only a regular fight between us. This is to try and measure my ability to where I am now,” said Abne.
The 23-year-old Abne has already two wins this year, both by knockout.
He first stop Garen Diagan of General Santos City in the 5th round last March 19 at the Alta Vista Golf and Country Club in Cebu City,
Abne then knocked out Arnold Garde of President Roxas in the 2nd round last May 21 at Bonifacio Bacaltos Sport and Cultural Center in Sibonga.
Abne has a total of nine wins, one loss and five knockouts.
“Bacolod is a veteran opponent and he also has a good record,” said Abne.
The 27-year-old Bacolod has 14 wins, one loss and 10 knockouts.
Bacolod retired Jason Mopon of Ipil in the 4th round last June 18, 2022 at Kitaotao Gym in Kitaotao.
“Good luck to both of us. As long as it's a nice fight for us,” said Abne.
Meanwhile, light flyweight John Paul Gabunilas (7-1-0, 5KOs) of Cebu will fight Ruben Dadivas (8-1-0, 4KOs) of Davao City in the main supporting match.
The other matches: Berland Robles vs. Ramel Antaran, Rodex Piala vs. Ulysses Lagos, Rodel Wenceslao vs. Ernesto Cagangpang, Bryan Janes Wild vs. Mateo Handig, Ian Abne vs. Charlie Malupangue, Ramil Macado vs. Jason Dogelio, and Yerge Gura vs. Jeffrey Galero.
