FORMER World Boxing Organisation Asia Pacific bantamweight champion Arthur “King” Villanueva of Bacolod City stopped Jakpan Sangtong of Thailand in the 10th round for the World Boxing Association Asia South bantamweight title last June 11 in Pakistan.
The 33-year-old Villanueva threw a right uppercut to Sangtong’s jaw to stop the Thai.
Villanueva now has 34 wins with 19 knockouts against four losses and one draw while Sangtong dropped to five defeats against 11 wins with four knockouts.
Villanueva was accompanied by his new manager Darwin Miller and trainer Jayvee Alipio of Highland Boxing Stable.
The boxing officials were composed of World Boxing Association Supervisor Silvestre Abainza, referee Jojo Torres, Judges Gerald Bassig, Jay Musa and Marcelo Ayala.
PBC Chairman Abdul Rasheed Baloch and Executive Secretary Kaleem Ahmed were also present.
