Lira Mocoy Placer to compete in the MVPSF Secondary Online Rapid Chess Championship Grand Finals

MANILA---Lira Mocoy Placer, a grade 9 student of Pampanga High School, will be competing in the Manny V. Pangilinan Sports Foundation Secondary Online Rapid Chess Championship Grandfinals Palarong Pambansa Continuity Plan Pilot Event.

The online tournament will run from January 28 to 30, 2022 at Tornelo Platform according to tournament manager National Arbiter Jun Uka.

The 14-year-old Placer, the sole representative from Region III – Central Luzon made it to the Grandfinals after a magnificent performance during the Luzon Leg last December 17- 19, 2021.
Other Luzon leg qualifiers were Jerlyn Mae San Diego (Region IV‑A – CALABARZON), Franchesca Reyes Largo ( Region IV‑A – CALABARZON), Ma. Elayza D. Villa (NCR – National Capital Region), Rohanisah J. Buto (Region IV‑A – CALABARZON), Anjella Monique M. Guno (Region IV‑A – CALABARZON), Josemier Jene E. Panol (NCR – National Capital Region), Cyhrea Ruth L. Atog (NCR – National Capital Region), Princes Louisa Oncita (Region IV‑A – CALABARZON) and Kate Nicole D. Ordizo (NCR – National Capital Region).
Also seeing in action in this 3-day event, sponsored by Manny V. Pangilinan Sports Foundation were Visayas leg qualifiers Maria Kristine G. Lavandero (Region VII – Central Visayas), Ryien B. Bahita (Region VII – Central Visayas), Shiela Mer A. Donoga (Region VIII – Eastern Visayas), Wena Barzaga Escalicas (Region VII – Central Visayas), Riane Jean A. Boncales (Region VII – Central Visayas), Edelyn Arances Vosotros (Region VII – Central Visayas), Roxane N. Serrano (Region VI – Western Visayas), Janna M. Remus (Region VI – Western Visayas), Angel Nheazy NIcole A. Po (Region VIII – Eastern Visayas) and Rhean Marie D. Barrosa (Region VI – Western Visayas).

Not to be outdone were Mindanao leg qualifiers that includes Aliyah Rae A. Lumangtad (Region XI – Davao Region), Mary Joy Asis Tan (Region X – Northern Mindanao), Nathalie W. Liscano (Region XII – SOCCSKSARGEN), Lynn Jael L. Maureal (Region X – Northern Mindanao), Trina Mhariz, L. Temple (Region XII – SOCCSKSARGEN), Sara Deloso Dalagan (Region X – Northern Mindanao), Kyla Deloso Dalagan (Region X – Northern Mindanao), Lyn L. Getubig (Region X – Northern Mindanao), Mechiel L.
