GM Antonio rules 1st Qualifying Tourney

Manila---Grandmaster Rogelio "Joey" Antonio Jr. ruled via tiebreak the 1st Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP) national try out at lichess.org on Saturday, October 17, 2020.
Antonio, tied for first-second places with United States based Grandmaster Mark Paragua 10.5 points apiece in the 12 rounds Swiss System, 3 minutes plus 2 seconds increment time control format organized by Atty. Paul Elauria.
With the highest tiebreak points, Antonio took the title while Paragua finished second.
Rounding up the top 10 were Fide Master Arden Reyes (3rd); Grandmaster Oliver Barbosa (4th); Ellan Asuela (5th); International Master Chito Garma (6th); International Master Ronald Dableo Rivera (7th); Kyle Ochoa; (8th) John Michael Silvederio (9th); and Jiggy Miguel Vicente (10th).-Marlon Bernardino-
