Ronny Ríos: "I Want Brandon Figueroa Asap"

Ronny Rios.

Ronny Rios keeps working hard despite the difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It seems like the Californian boxer wants to fight soon, very soon.

"I've been training hard, very hard and sometimes you get bored of just training and not fighting but this is our reality right now and if our family is safe, we must just be happy for that reason," commented Rios exclusively for PhilBoxing.com

Rios who holds a record of 32-3 (16 KOs) wants to challenge Brandon Figueroa next and wants to fight this year.

"I know Brandon doesn't say anything bad. Well he doesn't say anything at all. He must tell his promoter that he wants to fight and make the fight happen. I'm willing to do it and I already told my promoter to make it happen. I want Figueroa ASAP."

Rios, a native of Compton, California, feels that there's no response or action from the WBA in regard to making him the mandatory challenger.

"I don't know what's going on there. I just hope the WBA makes the right decision. I should be the mandatory challenger right now. The people want good fights and me and Brandon will be a war. But he is fighting a guy who hasn't even fought at 122 pounds ever, how is that possible? Right?

"Let's make the fight happen, the fans deserve the fight. They deserve a great fight and that's what I want to give them. But it is up to Brandon, his team and the WBA. I just want the championship and I deserve a title shot but I got a feeling they don't want it," Rios concluded.
