NBA Daily: Antetokounmpo's Triple-Double Powers Bucks Past Trail Blazers 137-129

PhilBoxing.com

Boracay Island, Philippines – The reigning NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo posted his 16th career triple-double, finishing with 24 points, 19 rebounds, career-high 15 assists, 3 steals, and a block to help the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Portland Trail Blazers 137-129 on Thursday night (Friday morning, Philippine time) at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Antetokounmpo’s second triple-double of the season also extended his team’s winning streak to six. Eric Bledsoe provided the scoring punch, as he finished with team-high 30 points, to go along with 4 boards, 6 dimes, and a steal for the Bucks, who improved to 12 wins and 3 losses.

CJ McCollum led Portland with 37 markers, while reserve forward Skal Labissiere stuffed the stat sheet with 22 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 5 blocks. Recent free agent signee Carmelo Anthony added 18 for the Bucks, who were without their scoring, assists, and steals leader Damian Lillard due to back problems.

Hassan Whiteside, Portland’s top rebounder and shot blocker, also sat out the contest due to a hip injury. With the loss, Portland dropped to a 5-11 win-loss card.

The Trail Blazers will be at Cleveland on Saturday night (Sunday morning, Philippine time) to face the Cavaliers.

Meanwhile, the Bucks will stay home to host the Detroit Pistons on the same night.
