NBA Daily: Pelicans Spoil George's Return, Upset Clippers 132-127 By Reylan Loberternos PhilBoxing.com Sat, 16 Nov 2019 Boracay Island, Philippines – Jrue Holiday stepped up big time in the absence of top scorer Brandon Ingram, as the Pelicans eked out a 132-127 victory over the highly favored LA Clippers on Thursday night (Friday morning, Philippine time) at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Holiday finished with 36 points on a 13-for-24 field goal shooting, including 5-for-6 from deep, to go along with 4 rebounds, 7 assists, 6 steals, and 1 block. Derrick Favors also chipped in a huge double-double of 20 markers and 20 boards for the Pelicans, who improved to 3 wins and 8 losses. In his season debut, Paul George led the Clippers with 33 across his name, while Lou Williams, who replaced Kawhi Leonard in the starting unit, added 31. Leonard was rested for the game to manage his left knee injury. The Clippers, who have yet to see their two superstars playing together, dropped to a 7-5 win-loss card. They will travel back home to host the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night (Sunday morning, Philippine time). Meanwhile, the Pelicans will next face the Heat in Miami on the same date.
