 Geraldo (C).
DAVAO CITY -- Mark Anthony "El Heneral" Geraldo of Bukidnon will defend his Philippine super bantamweight title against Lorence Rosas of Palawan on Sept. 20 at the City Hall grounds of Mandaluyong City.
The 28-year old Geraldo (37W-9L-3D, 18KO) knocked out Virgel Vitor of Cebu in the 6th round last Feb. 11 in Tagbilaran, Bohol.
He won the vacant World Boxing Organization Oriental bantamweight title by beating Kenny Demeciilo of Cebu in Hong Kong in 2017. But he lost the crown to undefeated Nordine Oubaali of France by a 7th round knockout last Dec. 16, 2017 in France.
Geraldo then came up with two victories in 2018 from Jetly Purisima (2nd round KO) and Nicardo Calamba (3rd round TKO).
Rosas, on the other hand, is 9 wins with 3 knockouts against 4 loses and 2 draws.
The 25-year old Rosas knocked out Bulacan's Danilo Gabisay in the 1st round in March 12, 2018 in Palawan.
But Rosas lost in three following bouts in abroad. He first dropped a unanimous decision to Omrri Bolivar of Venezuela last Aug. 19 in Japan. He then retired to Japan's Ryo Takenaka in the 5th round in Thailand last Dec. 8.
Rosas lost to a unanimous decision to Shuma Nakazato of Okinawa last March 21, 2019 in Japan.
It is promoted by Yolanda "Ate Yolly" Alfante of Shock Punch Promotions with matchmaker Jimmy Vallares. (Lito delos Reyes)
