Singapore Fighting Championship ? returns with a bang!

SINGAPORE, 21 August 2019 ? All fired up and ready to go. With the immense success of their previous event, the Singapore Fighting Championship (SFC) team is back yet again for round eight of its smashing multi-discipline event, SFC 8 ?Renegades of Fight?. The local combat sports promotion is set to make history with not one, but two World Boxing Council (WBC) Titles on the line, making it the most anticipated local combat sports event yet.

For the main event, Singapore?s very own Nurshahidah ?The Sniper? Roslie will go head to head with the undefeated boxer, Fan Yin, of China for the vacant WBC Silver Female Super Bantamweight Title.

Chengdu, the thriving capital of Sichuan is known by many to be the home to the cute giant pandas of China but it is also home to a Chinese female boxing phenom.

At the age of just 22, Fan Yin holds an undefeated professional boxing record of 8-0, with two of her victories coming from Technical Knockouts (TKOs) and one from a Split Decision in a bout for the vacant World Boxing Organisation Asia Pacific Female Bantamweight Title against a more experienced boxer from Japan. But she may face her biggest obstacle yet in Nurshahidah Roslie to keep a perfect record.
The first female professional boxer in Singapore, nicknamed ?The Sniper?, comes off a TKO victory over Thailand?s number one, Siriphon Chanbuala, in what was a very one-sided performance with Nurshahidah dominating the bout. The number one ranked female boxer in Asia, who holds a record of 14 wins and 2 losses with 11 of her wins coming from stoppages, also aims to be the most dominant force in the boxing scene so a win against an up and coming talent such as Fan Yin would be vital to cement her legacy to be one of the best female boxers.

But whatever the result, you can be sure to expect fireworks in this great 10-round bout.

Also featured in the card in the co-main event, 33-year-old, Rey ?The Future? Caitom will be facing Elias Nggenggo of Indonesia for the WBC Asian Boxing Council Minimum Title in a 10 round contest.

The undefeated Filipino boxer, who since returned to professional boxing after a 12 year retirement, has had two victories, one from a unanimous decision and the other from a TKO against tough and experienced opposition. He has high aims to remain undefeated throughout his boxing career but in order to do that he will have to overcome his Indonesian opposition who is hungry for win after consecutive losses.

His opponent, Elias Nggenggo, is deemed as a very fortunate man to many, with the opportunity to be given a chance to compete for the prestigious title with the record of 10 wins, 13 losses and 3 draws. However, we cannot count him out as this fight could be the biggest upset if the highly motivated Indonesian manages to pull off a victory over the Filipino, showing that like the famous quote, you can never judge a fighter by his record.

Joining them in this action-packed card will be super bantamweight ?Mr Fantastique? Muhammad Ashiq. The Singaporean will take on 20-year-old Selemani Bangaiza from Tanzania in what will be a nail-biting match given what both are capable of in the ring.

The Tanzanian Boxing Champion, Selemani started his professional boxing career at the young age of 15 and has had a very impressive record of 15 wins and 6 losses from his debut. He has conquered some uphill battles with strong and hard-to-beat opponents. The well-experienced Tanzanian boxer will go toe-to-toe with Ashiq, who even though fought lesser than Selemani, made a big impact with his record; 7 wins, 6 from KOs, 1 loss and 1 draw. The local 24-year-old, with his signature body shots, looks to hunt down another victory to go a step higher and become a household name in boxing.

This will be an extremely difficult 6 round boxing match for both boxers but it is bound to be a great fight to watch.

It is fair to say that SFC 8 is one thrilling night. There will be amateur and professional bouts in MMA, Muay Thai and Boxing from Singapore and beyond with the likes of boxer Rafi Majid, Muay Thai fighter Brandon Ng and pro-MMA debutant Ashraf Fauzi competing. It will return back to The Singapore Foochow Association on the 28th of September 2019.

Tickets are at $45 in Juggernaut Fight Club, (other gyms) from now till fight night, and at $50 at the door.
