Famous boxing promoter Bob Arum and rising boxing trainer Buboy Fernandez believe Philippine senator Manny Pacquiao will be elected president of the Philippines in the next presidential election.

Arum, who promoted Pacquiao for over a decade has visited the Philippines many times during the Philippine segment of Pacquiao?s training for upcoming title fights. Arum has likewise met with incumbent senators and other political figures in the country, making him quite knowledgeable with the prevailing domestic political landscape.

While staying in the country, Arum has witnessed how Pacquiao got elected as congressman of Sarangani province in southern Philippines. The hall of fame promoter could not believe Pacquiao?s grassroots popularity as he joined some of Pacquiao?s campaign sorties in the countryside.

Arum predicted that Pacquiao will be elected president of the Philippines in 2022 and wished that he would still be alive when Pacquiao will be installed as the country?s next president.

"He's gonna be a president," Arum told TMZ Sports in West Hollywood in April 2015. He also said that Pacquiao will run for senator in 2016.

"He's gonna run for Senate in the Philippines in 2016 ... and then in 2022 or maybe later, he'll run for President of the Philippines," added Arum, who is now 87 years old.

Arum?s prediction about Pacquiao?s political career has been fairly accurate as Pacquiao became the lone representative of Sarangani province and now elected as senator to serve a six-year term till 2022.

Arum and Pacquiao during happy times. Arum is predicting Pacquiao to become president of the Philippines.

"It's 2022, that's the year Manny would become eligible to run for the presidency," Arum said before Pacman's open media workout according to?Examiner.com?back in 2011.

"That would be, to me, the biggest achievement of my career, to see this kid how far he has come and how far he can go.

"But I hope I will be alive to see it. I will be age 91. I won't be dancing, I will be in the hospice by then," Arum said with a hearty laugh.

While Arum has severed ties with Pacquiao, they remained friends and the possibility that Arum would help Pacquiao in the next presidential campaign isn?t remote. Lately Arum has expressed his concern about Pacquiao?s health as the world eight-division champ collide with unbeaten Keith Thurman in Paradise, Nevada over the weekend.

Pacquiao?s boyhood friend and trainer Buboy Fernandez has likewise predicted that Pacquiao will soon become the country?s next president.

Fernandez, who was recently elected vice-mayor of a town in Albay province in southern Luzon, is very much concerned about Pacquiao?s health as he believes Pacquiao will soon seek the presidency.

?I want to be careful because I still want to see him become the president,??said Fernandez, who collaborates with Coach Freddie Roach as head trainer for the upcoming Pacquiao-Thurman fight.
