PACQUIAO IS NOW THE SLIGHT BETTING FAVORITE OVER THURMAN

PhilBoxing.com

Eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao is now a -115 favorite (bet $115 to win $100) in the latest Pacquiao vs. Thurman odds, with Keith Thurman listed at -105 (bet $105 to win $100) in their WBA welterweight unification fight which Las Vegas odds makers analysed as virtually even, according to CBS Sports.

Last month, initial figures listed Thurman a -135 favorite and Pacquiao a +115 underdog. That means a $135 bet on Thurman, wins just $100, while a $100 bet on Pacquiao, the earns $115. Pacquiao was the underdog for the first time since he fought Floyd Mayweather in May 2015.

The latest odds show that stories and news about Pacquiao is starting to sway the betting public, according to Forbes, and fans are beginning to place more bets on the former pound-for-pound king to the tune of 61 percent of the bets are now risked on the fighting senator to win the fight.

Thurman (29-0, 22 KOs) is ten years younger than Pacquiao (61-7-2, 39 KOs) but was less impressive last January when he came back from a 22 month layoff due to injury to outscore Josesito Lopez. Despite his being 40-years old, Pacquiao looked spectacular in his last two fights, knocking out Lucas Matthysse and getting a one-sided decision win over Adrien Broner.

Pacquiao is quoted by The Manila Times that he is ready to take Thurman right now. "They can bring the enemy today or anytime from now and face him off. I have been preparing for this fight for more than a month, dividing my time as a lawmaker and a fighter and I believe I?ve done enough to prepare myself, for the fight," Pacquiao said.

Conditioning coach Justine Fortune says ?Manny?s been really very aggressive in this training camp and I?m not surprised if he, indeed, feels he can fight already this early." He added that it makes everything easy for us from hereon. "That certainly reduced our problems to seeing to it that Manny doesn?t get sick or overtrained,? he explained.
