VOTE FOR "PHOTO OF THE YEAR" AT BRISCOE AWARDS
PhilBoxing.com Sat, 13 Apr 2019
PHILADELPHIA - One of four local photographers will take home a solid bronze Briscoe Medal on Sunday, April 14th, when fans attending the 12th Annual Briscoe Awards cast their vote to determine the best shot of the year. The Briscoe Awards take place this Sunday, April 14, 2019, 1:00 PM, at Xfinity Live! in South Philly.
The four photographers, Darryl Cobb Jr., Jano Cohen, Kenny Ludwig, and Tim McCloskey, submitted their work for the competition, and their photos include both action shots and portraits which highlight the 2018 Philly fight scene. All four photos will be displayed at the event on Sunday, and everyone in attendance will be given a ballot and asked to select their favorite image.
By the end of the awards presentation, the votes will be tallied and the winning photographer will win a Briscoe Award. Cobb and McCloskey are former winners of the Photo award.
The awards, named after Philly middleweight boxing legend Bennie Briscoe, have been recognizing the best achievements of the Philly boxing scene since 2007.
This year's event will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at Xfinity Live! in South Philadelphia (1100 Pattison Avenue), 1-4 PM. Tickets for the Briscoe Awards cost $10 each, and can be purchased in advance at BriscoeAwards.com, or by calling 609-377-6413.
The Briscoe Awards are presented by Philly Boxing History Inc., a 501c3 Non-Profit organization, dedicated to preserving and honoring the great legacy of boxing in and around the city of Philadelphia. For more information, call John DiSanto at 609-377-6413.
