August 28 -- Christian Pitt Laurente wins a bronze medal at the AIBA World Youth Championships held in Hungary, losing to Uzbekistans Abdumalik Khalokov in the semi-finals. August 29 -- Chayaphon Moonsri a.k.a. Wanheng Menayothin (Thailand) WUD12 Pedro Taduran WBC world minimumweight title, Nakhon Sawan, Thailand September 1 -- Philippine amateur boxing team finishes with only one silver and two bronze medals in the 2018 Asian Games September 8 -- Donnie Nietes vs. Aston Palicte ends in a twelve round split draw at the Forum in Inglewood, California, USA. The WBO world junior bantamweight title remained vacant. September 11 -- Philippine Senate approves Senate Bill No. 1306 otherwise known as the Philippine Boxing and Combat Sports Commission Act of 2018 which is authored and sponsored by Senator Manny Pacquiao. September 28- Jerwin Ancajas retains IBF junior bantamweight title via split draw against Mexican challenger Alejandro Santiago Barrios, Oracle Arena, Oakland,California,USA. October 1 -- The Philippine Senate grants Filipino citizenship to long time Philippine resident and well-known veteran boxing referee Bruce McTavish. October 7- Ken Shiro (Japan) WTKO7 Milan Melindo, retains WBC world light flyweight title, Yokohama Arena,Yokohama, Japan. October 23 -- Manny Pacquiao signs with Al Haymons Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) and targets more lucrative fights in the U.S. October 29- Felix Alvarado(Nicaragua) WTKO7 Randy Petalcorin, wins vacant IBF light flyweight world title, Midas Hotel and Casino, Pasay City,Philippines. November 3 -- Nonito Donaire WRTD4 Ryan Burnett (UK), wins WBA world bantamweight super title and WBC Diamond belt, SSE Hydro Arena, Glasgow, Scotland,United Kingdom. Donaire enters the semifinals of the World Boxing Super Series bantamweight tournament. November 5 -- Senator Manny Pacquiao delivers a speech before the Oxford Union November 16- The Philippines hosts the World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Summit and 3rd Womens Convention November 19 -- Manny Pacquiao and Adrien Broner (USA) formally announce their upcoming fight in a press conference held in New York. The bout for Pacquiaos WBA welterweight title will be on January 19,2019 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. December 1 -- Carlos Licona (Mexico/USA) WSD12 Mark Anthony Barriga, vacant IBF world minimumweight title, Staples Center, Los Angeles, California,USA. December 2 -- Simpiwe Konkco (South Africa) TD4 Joey Canoy, IBO world minimumweight title, Orient Theater,East London, South Africa. Accidental headbutt inflicts a cut on Konkco and the fight being stopped in the fourth round resulting in a no decision. December 31- Donnie Nietes WSD12 Kazuto Ioka (Japan), WBO world junior bantamweight title, Wynn Palace, Macau S.A.R. China. Nietes wins his fourth world division title and joins Nonito Donaire and Manny Pacquiao as the only three Filipino boxers to win more than three world titles in different weights.
