NBA -- Butler trade remains in limbo

A few days after demanding to be traded from the Minnesota Timberwolves to New York (Knicks or Nets) or Los Angeles (Clippers), Jimmy Butler isn't going anywhere. For now.
According to a report by ESPN, the Wolves will only trade Butler for the best deal available, not just for the sake of getting rid of him and moving along. That, however, might take some time considering training camp just opened all across the NBA yesterday. So far, seven teams have manifested interest on Butler, with the Miami Heat the latest franchise in hot pursuit.
"We are not going to make a bad deal," said Tom Thibodeau, the head coach and basketball czar of the Timberwolves who also coached Butler during during their time with the Chicago Bulls.
Butler spend six seasons with the Bulls before he was traded to Minnesota on draft night of 2017 for Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn and the No.7 pick which turned out to be Lauri Markannen.
In his lone season with the Wolves, Butler averaged 22 points in 59 regular season games and helped Minnesota reach the playoffs for the first time in 14 years.
