LOS ANGELES -- With two bites at the draft apple, the Los Angeles Clippers maximized their options and invited six prospects to a pre-draft workout yesterday at the team's multi-million dollar practice facility in suburban Playa Vista.
With the 12th and 13th pick in the upcoming June 21 NBA draft at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, the Clippers brought in Miles Bridges and Kevin Knox from the blue blood programs of Michigan State and the University of Kentucky, respectively. They were joined by Aaron Holiday and GG Goloman of UCLA, another blue-chip program, as well as Matt Farrell of the University of Notre Dame and Doral Moore of Wake Forest.
Bridges, a 6-foot-7, 230-pound forward, is high on the Clippers radar., according to multiple reports including The Los Angeles Times. The 20-year old from Flint, Michigan has an explosive inside game and can make a deep 3 that is a must-have arsenal in today's modern NBA. After two seasons in college, Bridges is ready to take the next step.
"I try and give 110 percent everywhere I go. Like I said, this was a great workout and I gave it my all," Bridges told reporters during his media availability session.
On the heels of losing franchise cornerstones Blake Griffin and Chris Paul this past season, the rebuilding Clippers are also eyeing Knox, a versatile 6-foot-9, 215-pounder who can play both forward spots. Only 18 years young, Knox played 37 games in his lone season in Kentucky and averaged 15.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per.
The L.A. Clippers finished the 2017-18 regular season with a 42-40 record and missed the playoffs. Among the talents left in their roster include Lou Williams, Tobias Harris, Austin Rivers and DeAndre Jordan, whose 12 points and 15.2 rebounds per game average could depart in free agency.
