DeAndre Jordan dunks.
BOSTON ? The losing streak continues.
DeAndre Jordan did just enough with 30 points and 13 rebounds to lead the LA Clippers over the struggling Boston Celtics in a 129-119 upset on Wednesday night at the TD Garden.
Six other Clippers players finished in double figures to support their versatile center with Tobias Harris scoring 21, Danilo Gallinari had 20 points and guards Austin Rivers and Avery Bradley chipping in 10 points apiece. Lou Williams and Milos Teodosic came off the bench and contributed 19 and 10 points, respectively.
Los Angeles held on to a slim 61-57 halftime lead. There were a few lead changes in the third quarter and at the beginning of the fourth but Jordan made two free throws and an alley oop dunk with 4:05 remaining in the game for a 116-111 bubble to eventually break away from the Celtics. Boston fell to 40-19 before the All-Star break and remains 2nd in the East.
Interestingly, the Clippers are currently at 9th place in the West with 30-26 record, only half a game behind the Nuggets, Pelicans and Trail Blazers who identically have 31-26 slates. They are 7-3 in their last 10 games as they try to secure a playoff spot.
The Clippers were 44-for-88 for 50%% field goal conversion while the Knicks had 42-for-97 for 43.3% clip.
The Celtics next home game is February 26 versus the Memphis Grizzlies.
