SINGH AND AMUZU READY FOR RAJASTHAN RUMBLE

PhilBoxing.com

JAIPUR, INDIA ? Hometown favorite Vijender Singh (9-0,7KO?s) and challenger Ernest Amuzu (23-2,21KO?s) of Ghana made the division limit during the official weigh-in held Friday at the Grand Uniara Hotel.

Singh weighed in at 76kgs or 167.2 lbs while Amuzu stepped on the scales at 165.4 lbs.

For the past two years, Singh held the WBO Asia Pacific super middleweight title. Last August, Singh won a grueling, razor-thin unanimous verdict over Zulipikaer Maimaitiali of China, who was the WBO Oriental champion, in Mumbai?s NSCI Stadium. This victory gave Singh, not just two belts but a boost in the WBO rankings. He is now number six in the 168lb division ruled by Gilberto Ramirez of Mexico.

Supervising for the WBO is Danny Leigh from Australia. The referee for the WBO regional title fight will be Surat Soikrachang of Thailand. The three judges responsible for the scoring are Serikzhan Yeshmagambetov (Kazakhstan), Mekin Sumon (Thailand) and Han Hongxiang (China).

The weigh-in and fights will be officiated by the Professional Boxing Commission (PBC) International headed by PBC Executive Secretary Maggie Wei Na from China.

For the undercards - Pardeep Kharera (2-2,2KO?s) vs Nikhil Sharma - 6 rounds, Kharera was at 65.6kgs (144.32lbs) while Sharma weighed 65.5kgs (144lbs). Kharera is coming off a second round TKO win over Thai Wanpichit Siriphana last August. Sharma will be making his pro debut.

Dharmender Grewal (4-0,1KO) ? 88.5kgs or 194lbs vs Harsh Nagar ? 79.5kgs or 174.6lbs - 6 rounds

Kuldeep Dhanda (6-1,1KO) ? 60.5 kgs or 133lbs vs Fateh Singh - 58.4 kgs or 128.5 lbs- 4 rounds

Asad Asif Khan (2-2) ? 56.7kgs vs Sunil Siwach ? 56.6kgs - 4 rounds. Khan beat Pinoy Dubai expat Larry Abarra by unanimous decision last August in Mumbai.

Amandeep Singh (59.4kgs) vs Manoj Kumar (59.9kgs) ? 4 rounds and Kuldeep Singh (92.2kgs) vs Amrinder Singh (88.9kgs) ? 4 rounds round up the preliminary bouts. The fights will be held December 23 Saturday in Jaipur?s Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
