NBA -- Celtics rally past Warriors, 92-88, win 14th straight

BOSTON. The Boston Celtics extended their season-high streak to 14 on Thursday night, stunning the Golden State Warriors, 92-88 before a sell-out crowd at the T.D. Garden.
After trailing by as many as 17 in the third quarter, Kyrie Irving and prized rookie Jayson Tatum led the way as Boston kept the league's best record with an impressive come-from-behind victory over Steph Curry and the defending champion Warriors.
With Kevin Durant and Andre Iguodala hitting their stride early, the Warriors took a 28-18 lead after one quarter before settling with a 47-42 advantage at halftime.
Shooting guard Jaylen Brown made an impact at the third quarter, scoring back-to-back baskets to cut the Warriors? lead to 66-56. Al Horford made a dunk and two free throws, Brown was fouled and made another pair of free throws before a Tatum lay-up gave Celtics the upperhand at 68-66. Omri Casspi made a basket to even the score 68-68 heading into the fourth quarter.
The final quarter was a see-saw battle but at the 7:58 mark, the trio of Tatum, Irving and Horford conspired to spark a 22-point run to finish off the Warriors 92-88.
Brown led a balanced Celtics offense with 22 points and 7 boards. Power forward Marcus Morris and Tatum both had 12 points apiece, Horford chipped in 18 points and 11 rebounds while Irving scored 16 points and 6 assists despite a dismal 4-of-16 from the field.
Kevin Durant led the losing side with 24 points while Klay Thompson added 13. The Warriors fell to 11-4 while Boston hiked its record to a league-best 14-2.
