LOMACHENKO STOPS MARRIAGA IN 7

Ring No. 5 pound for pound boxer of the planet Vasyl 'Hi-Tech' Lomachenko of Ukraine continued his dominating performance after he stopped Miguel Marriaga of Colombia in the 7th round of their 12-round scheduled contest to successfully defend his WBO super featherweight title Saturday night at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles.
Lomachencko (9-1-0, 7KOs) dropped three-time world title challenger Marriaga (25-3-0, 21KOs) in round 3 and punished the Colombian every round. In round 7, Lomachenko peppered Marriaga from all angles but it looked Marriaga would be able to survive the round when just before the bell, Lomachenko connected with a vicious left hook to Marriaga's head that dropped the Colombian for the second time. The fight ended abruptly.
