TABUGON TARGETS UPSET VS. ESTRADA
By Rene Bonsubre, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Sat, 08 Oct 2016

Filipino Raymond Tabugon faces the toughest opponent in his almost six-year boxing career on the road in Puerto Penasco, Sonora, Mexico on October 8 (October 9 Sunday Manila Time).
Tabugon (18-5-1,8KO?s) will fight former WBO/WBA flyweight champion Juan Francisco ?El Gallo? Estrada (33-2,24KO?s) in a ten round non-title contest. The 25 year old from the Sanman Gym of Gen.Santos City is obviously a heavy underdog against the accomplished Mexican who has beaten Brian Viloria, Milan Melindo, Giovani Segura and Hernan Marquez to name a few.
Estrada is also known for losing to Roman Gonzalez of Nicaragua by unanimous decision in an action-packed bout four years ago. The 26 year old is moving up one division higher and Tabugon will be his first bout at super flyweight.
Tabugon weighed in at 116.5 lbs while Estrada was at 116 lbs during the official weigh-in. Sanman Promotions CEO Jim Claude ?JC? Manangquil informed philboxing of the weigh-in results.
?I expect Tabugon to fight hard like he always does. This is a big opportunity for him,? Manangquil stated in an earlier e-mail.
Tabugon lost in his last fight in Mexico, by 5th round TKO against Juan Hernandez Navarette last year. Two years ago, Tabugon won the IBO Intercontinental light flyweight title against Luzuko Siyo in South Africa by unanimous decision.
