NBA -- Utah stuns frigid-shooting Bulls, 97-77
By Hector Posa PhilBoxing.com Thu, 08 Jan 2015

CHICAGO -- It was one of those nights when the Chicago Bulls couldn't hit shots while the other team couldn't seem to miss anything.
No thanks to a dreadful 28 of 84 shooting from the field (33.3 percent), the Bulls got slapped around by the visiting Utah Jazz, 97-77, on Wednesday night at the United Center.
Derrick Favors topped the Jazz with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Gordon Hayward had 17 points and five assists and Trey Burke added 17. Trevor Booker came off the bench with 15.
The Jazz shot 47.4 percent from the field (36-of-78) and snapped the Bulls' three-game home winning streak.
"We couldn't get any rhythm offensively and defensively, we were a step behind," Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau told reporters during his post-game press conference.
Derrick Rose missed 12 of 15 shots and was held to seven points. Pau Gasol, who had been electric of late, finished with a quiet 13 points on 5-for-13 shooting.
Jimmy Butler led with 16 points for the Bulls, who sank just six of 20 triples while missing five of 20 free throws.
The disappointing defeat dropped the Bulls to 25-11, third place in the Eastern Conference while the Jazz improved to 13-23, 13th place in the Western Conference. (HP)
