NBA -- LeBron's 41 not enough to beat Pelicans
By Absalon Inocian, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Sun, 14 Dec 2014

New Orleans -- The New Orleans Pelicans pulled back to the .500 mark for the season and improved to an 11-11 record after beating the Cleveland Cavaliers, 199-114, on Friday night at the Smoothie King Center.
Tyreke Evans led the way for the Pelicans with 31 points on 13 for 24 shooting from the field. Evans also had 10 assists while Ryan Anderson drilled a career-high eight 3-pointers which netted him 30 points.
?Tyreke played overall, he has the ability to attack the basket, knocked down two three?s, and made 10 assists. He is just a unique player to play that big and strong.? Pelicans head coach Monty Williams told reporters about Evans' performance.
?We have no clue that they gonna put LeBron on Ryan, we thought he will be on Tyreke, so I think that cleared the way for Tyreke because nobody wants to leave Ryan, I don?t know.? Williams added.
?He?s not afraid of big shots, and not afraid of taking the shots, and that?s what we trust him to do.? Coach Williams on Ryan Anderson playing big in Anthony Davis? absence.
All-Star Anthony Davis who left 5 minutes before the end of the first quarter due to a chest contusion, contributed eight points. Jrue Holiday added 16.
LeBron James, who missed his last assignment due to left knee soreness, reported back to action and delivered 41 points to pace the visiting Cavaliers. Kevin Love pitched in 21 and point guard Kyrie Irving tallied 17.
