PINOY Pride 28 ? ?History in the Making? just got even bigger with the addition of World Boxing Organization (WBO) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) mini flyweight champion Francisco Rodriguez in the undercard.
The 21-year-old Rodriguez is the Mexican fighter who dethroned then WBO titleholder Merlito Sabillo last March 22 in Monterrey, Mexico. Rodriguez outclassed then unbeaten Sabillo and stopped him in the 10th round.
?It will be aired in Mexico. We are looking for an opponent but it will be a non-title fight,? said ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer.

Sabillo, 23-1-1 with 12 knockouts, is also seeing action on the same card in a non-title fight against an Asian fighter. Sabillo and Rodriguez fighting separate bouts in the same boxing show is a precursor of a possible rematch.
?Yes we are looking at that. But he (Rodriguez) has plans on moving up so we really don?t know yet.?
Rodriguez, 16-2 with 11 knockouts, is one of the best mini-flyweights in the world and is rated second in The Ring Magazine 105-pound ratings at No. 2 behind World Boxing Association champion Hekkie Budler.
According to Aldeguer, Rodriguez will be up against a Filipino fighter with a good record and the detail swill be finalized this week.
