Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya has revealed he is hoping to promote a show at Wembley Stadium, hinting at a super fight for Amir Khan, writes Declan Taylor in the Sunday People.
De La Hoya, the 10-time world champion in six different weight divisions, owns Golden Boy Promotions, which boasts Khan in its star-studded stable of fighters.
The American watched Eddie Hearn?s record-breaking show at the national stadium on May 31, when almost 80,000 people watched Carl Froch beat George Groves.
And now he is looking to promote a show of his own in the capital and Khan could be the beneficiary.
The Bolton star, a former unified light-welterweight champion, has been linked with another all-British fight, against Sheffield?s Kell Brook, who won the IBF title last month.
And Khan is still pursuing a money-spinning bout with Floyd Mayweather Junior, the best pound-for-pound boxer on the planet.
Mayweather, who moved to 47-0 by beating Marcos Maidana in Las Vegas this month, confirmed that boxing in England is a possibility, but says he will only fight twice more before he retires.

And that could open the door for De La Hoya to make a Wembley showdown with Khan.
He said: ?Absolutely. That is something I would love to do. If a promoter wants to do it in the UK, we can work something out.?
De La Hoya?s Mexican light-middleweight superstar Saul ?Canelo? Alvarez is also a possibility for a Wembley fight.
He added: ?It would be interesting to take Canelo over there. If the opportunity can present itself I am obviously open to it.?
