Yesterday at a teleconference to help hype Oscar De La Hoya vs Floyd Mayweather Jr on May 5th, De La Hoya confirmed his conditioning and stating that his new trainer Freddie Roach has been a great asset in training.
De La Hoya confirmed he will be in excellent shape, stating: “I?ll be ready May 5. Freddie Roach (ph) and I have been working great together. We?ve been training extremely hard. Freddie Roach (ph) pushes me every single day. And I?m looking forward to being very aggressive, and not necessarily going in there and trying to walk through this guy. But when it comes to my conditioning, I?ll be able to do everything I want to do inside that ring. So I?m really looking forward to that.”
De La Hoya added: “I didn?t think I could get in better shape at this point in my career, but Freddie (ph) has really taken it up a notch when it comes to being in good shape for a fight.”
Freddie Roach replaces long time trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr who out priced himself in his request for 2 million dollars training fee.
