And after outpointing Porter, Special K revealed how much work had gone into his glory night.
He said: ?I can?t get my head around it. Since I was nine I have been training for this. It has been my dream.
?I took it from him in his own back yard but Shawn Porter is a true warrior. I was born to do this. It?s been a long time coming.
?I have been training and making sacrifices all my life. I think the British public needs to see this fight and that Khan needs to get in the queue.?
Brook outclassed the more compact, powerful, heavy-punching American setting up the win behind his left jab and heavy right hand.
He showed his class throughout the 12-round fight frustrating Porter with his sharp footwork, not allowing him opponent at close quarters where he was most dangerous.
The Yorkshireman out-jabbed Porter seeing him secure the majority decision from the judges by 114-114, 117-111, 116-112.
