Putting Groucho?s question to the test, those responsible for Saturday?s debacle in Brooklyn are rewriting history?

?Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes???Groucho Marx

Putting Groucho?s question to the test, those responsible for Saturday?s debacle are rewriting history.

For example, Stephen Espinoza, head of Showtime, says that he?s fine with went down in Brooklyn.

?It was an entertaining night,? he told BoxingScene.com with a straight face. ?That?s what I promised people. I said it was going to be an action fight in the main event. I said it was going to be action fights all night. The reality is, it was entertaining. These opponents were picked because they were going to fight. And we all know fans want action, excitement and that?s what they got. Everyone went home happy.?

One man?s junk is another man?s treasure. Perhaps that explains it. But I?m not sure how Espinoza knows that ?Everyone went home happy.? Unless he conducted a scientific poll, that?s nothing more than wishful thinking, if not unmitigated spin.

Removing his rose-colored glasses for a moment, Espinoza admitted, ?There was a big size difference [between Garcia and Salka]. On the night of fight [Garcia] was bigger than we anticipated. We know that Salka?s had at least nine or ten fights at 140-pounds, but Danny is a big 140-pounder. Danny did what he was supposed to do, he looked impressive. Paulie [Malignaggi] said it really well at the close of the broadcast, there has been criticism of the opponent and what?s going to be overlooked is that Danny looked very sharp. Regardless of who was in front of him, he came out and looked sharp and he did what he had to do and you can?t take that away from him.?

Garcia did look sharp and ?did what he had to do,? but beating Rod Salka proved nothing, except that Danny can bulldoze someone not remotely in his class.

If we take Espinoza?s post-fight remarks at face value, everything?s swell in the land of plenty.

Or is it?
