LAS VEGAS ? Their faces bloodied and swollen, Manny Pacquiao and Mexican champion Juan Manuel Marquez fought to a thrilling 12-round split draw that left both sides disappointed. But more so Pacquiao who had knocked down the gutsy Mexican three times in the first round but could not finish him off in the dying seconds of the opener.
“I should have won the fight. I?m disappointed,” Pacquiao said. The Filipino fighter said he thought he would knock Marquez out in the first round “but there wasn?t enough time.”
Marquez, on the other hand, also thought he won the fight.
“In the first round I went in there overconfident,” Marquez said. “But I survived that and I thought I won.”
