LAS VEGAS?A megabuck showdown with Mexican Erik Morales vanished in thin smoke Saturday night when Manny Pacquiao was held to a controversial 12-round split draw by Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand.
Pacquiao had been promised that he will be ranged against Morales on July 31 in the event he survives the Mexican counter-puncher, but Bob Arum, who co-promoted the blockbuster card with Murad Muhammad, revealed that Morales will instead face El Salvador?s Carlos Hernandez here or in Los Angeles.
When Pacquiao signed for the Marquez fight, he started talking about a match with Morales in July, and this resulted in Marquez getting incensed at the mere thought of being relegated as a stepping-stone.
