Golovkin dispatches Geale in three, calls for Miguel Cotto!

WBA middleweight champion Gennady ?GGG? Golovkin (30-0, 27 KOs) looked as monstrous as he usually does when he stopped a game world class middleweight in former champion Daniel Geale (30-3, 16 KOs) in the third round moments ago at the Mecca of Boxing, Madison Square Garden in New York as seen live on HBO. It was a strange opening round where a game Geale used the ring well but was tripped by a photographer near the round?s end. The first stanza also ran a minute long and was four minutes in duration. In the second round a series of wild blows from Golovkin dropped Geale but he recovered well and stood his ground looking to earn some respect of his own. Both men traded shots in the third and the advantage went to the big punching defending champion. Geale landed a good right hand on Golovkin but ?GGG? was already loading up a right of his own and it dropped Geale like a stone. He got up on very unsteady legs and shook his head ?no? to the referee and the bout was promptly waived off. It was the 27th KO victory in Golovkin?s 30 fights and he called for a showdown with fellow middleweight world champion Miguel Cotto in his post fight speech.
