TOP Rank president Bob Arum pronounced that Manny Pacquiao will earn almost $5 million dollars against Jorge Solis of Mexico on April 15 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
The figure he said, is much bigger than what Mexicans Marco Antonio Barrera’s and Juan Manuel Marquez’s combined earnings during their fight at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada last March 18.
According to Arum one fighter received $1.5 millions and the other earned $1.2 in the Vegas fight promoted by his arch-rival Golden Boy Promotions of Oscar De La Hoya.
Wrong figures
“Manny will earn much more than what those two fighters got combined. Manny will get close to $5 million against Solis,” Arum said quoted by Fightnews.com.
Although Arum was right, he got his figures wrong.
Another boxing site revealed that Barrera earned only $1.2 million while Morales only got $700 according to the records release by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

However, Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation would not reveal how much Pacquiao will receive for fighting the undefeated Solis.
According to the Texas Commission, submitted contracts are protected b the by the right of privacy—this means information with regards to fight purses are withheld by the State.
Meanwhile, after the court ruled against the plea of Golden Boy Promotions to stop the Pacquiao-Solis fight, GBP chief executive officer Richard Schaefer said Pacquiao is taking a step backward in fighting the unheard of Solis.
According to Schaefer, fighters of Solis caliber would only diminish the superstar status of Pacquiao and if he will continue to fight against class B fighters his stardom will get smaller and smaller.
