After a series of disastrous news cycles Adrien “The Problem” Broner is finally the subject of a boxing-related story. Broner made news recently for offending Mexicans in the ring, giving a homeless man $1,000 only to find him days later beaten and robbed, and don’t forget about that gross sex tape. But now it seems there is a possible new match in the works. Money May has said he isn’t going to fight Manny Pacquiao, so the next best thing is “little brother” Broner. Of course this is assuming that Broner can have his suspension lifted.
The long-awaited match between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao is apparently not going to happen, so the closest they are likely to get is Broner vs. PacMan. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It could still be a big ticket (K Pop Starz):
“A fight between the two would undoubtedly sell a ton of tickets and even more pay per views. People tune in to watch Manny Pacquiao win while other people watch Adrien Broner just to see him lose. Put the two in the ring together and we would have ourselves quite an exciting event.”
And then there is always the possibility that Broner will train really hard and put on a good show. The naturally talented but wildly inconsistent young fighter has shown that he still has room to mature, but when he’s good, he’s really good.
Maybe he’s training right now. After all, Broner’s been out of the spotlight since his last public outing went south (via Classicalite):
“Somebody must have kidnapped boxer Adrien Broner because he hasn’t been in the news [lately]…
“Maybe in light of all this bad press Broner has decided to hibernate. Good for him. By many personal accounts Broner is actually a sweet guy who just has the disease of being young and cocky.”
