Ndondo “Aseng Jr.” Sugiarto of Aseng Promotions informed Fightnews.com that he has already tied up with Uruguayan matchmaker Sampson Lewkowicz to secure IBF strawweight champion Muhammad Rachman a fight in Indonesia against the mandatory challenger Florante “The Small Pacquiao” Condes of the Philippines. Initially, a US promoter wanted to stage Rachman-Condes in the States, but Indonesian promoter Albert Papilaya offered a purse for Rachman which was much bigger than the US offer, therefore Rachman prefers the fight to be conducted in Indonesia. However, the contract for both fighters hasn’t been finalized, so the IBF sent an ultimatum that the contract must have been concluded before March 23, otherwise IBF will conduct a purse bid for this mandatory fight. Aseng Promotions as Rachman’s option handler then tied up with Lewkowicz. Lewkowicz is not a ‘stranger’ to the Indonesian boxing community, as he has been involved in many world boxing title matches in Indonesia, including Rachman vs Daniel Reyes (in 2004) and Chris John vs Juan Manuel Marquez for the WBA featherweight title (2006). “I have made deal with Mr. Lewkowicz to use his special boxing connections to secure Rachman vs Condes in Indonesia, either by common approach or to all parties or through IBF’s purse bid,” said Ndondo Sugiarto. Rachman vs Condes is predicted to be a classic fight between two powerful punchers in the lightest division in boxing.
