On the Move took a break last week, but the last two week?s rankings shifts can be found in this volume. While Manny Pacquiao set the record straight with Timothy Bradley, Duane Ford, and C.J. Ross myriad other SecondsOut ranked fighters turned in mixed performances. Ten SecondsOut ranked fighters dipped in their rankings and some even made their exit from the top ten. Most fell due to the strong showing of another ranked fighter, but it was not a two-week span without upset. More positively, several young boxers set up high expectations for their futures and set boxing chat-rooms on fire with fantasy talk. All in all, it was a good two weeks for the Sweet Science as the best in the business remain On the Move.
Last week?s rankings shifts:
On Saturday, April 12, at Blue Water Dokken, Esbjerg, Denmark, Mateusz Masternak defeated Stjepan Vugdelija by unanimous scores in an eight round cruiserweight bout. The three judges favored Masternak 80-70 and 80-72 twice. Masternak won for the second time this year and improved his record to 32-1 (23). Vugdelija fell to 8-3 (7).
Masternak held onto his number nine cruiserweight ranking among SecondsOut?s top 200 pounders.
Also on the card, Andy Lee struggled to outpoint Frank Haroche Horta in a middleweight bout. The majority decision went to Lee by scores of 76-76 and 77-76 twice. Lee lifted his ledger to 32-2 (22). Horta fell to 34-13-5 (13).
Lee dipped in the SecondsOut middleweight rankings, falling from eighth to ninth. Hassan N?Jikam N?Dam climbed from ninth to eighth.
At Oasis Hotel Complex, Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico, Jesus Silvestre was upset by Eduardo Martinez in an eight round minimumweight bout. Martinez earned the victory by split scores of 77-75 twice and 75-77. Martinez improved his dossier to 10-2-1 (2) with the career best win. Silvestre tumbled to 28-5 (20).
Martinez crashed the SecondsOut minimumweight rankings at number nine. Silvestre fell out of the rankings from number six. The previously ranked seven through nine boxers each advanced one ranking.
At MGM Grand, Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, Timothy Bradley lost a unanimous decision to Manny Pacquiao in a twelve round WBO welterweight title bout. Pacquiao righted the wrong done to him nearly two years ago with winning scores of 118-110 and 116-112 twice. Pacquiao regained the WBO welterweight title and raised his record to 56-5-2 (38). Bradley dipped to 31-1 (12).
Pacquiao reclaimed the number one spot in the welterweight division, climbing up from third. Bradley sank from first to second and Juan Manuel Marquez fell from second to third.
Also on the card, Raymundo Beltran defeated Arash Usmanee in a twelve round lightweight bout. Beltran captured the win by scores of 118-110 and 117-111 twice. Beltran lifted his resume to 29-6-1 (17). Usmanee fell to 20-2-1 (10).
Beltran remained SecondsOut?s number three ranked lightweight in the world. Usmanee, who gave up a SecondsOut top ten ranking at 130 pounds to compete as a lightweight, remains unranked.
Also on the card, Bryan Vazquez defeated Jose Felix Jr. by unanimous decision in a twelve round interim WBA super featherweight title bout. Vazquez prevailed by scores of 117-110 and 114-113 twice. Vazquez improved his professional numbers to 33-1 (17). Felix fell to 26-1-1 (21).
Vazquez climbed from ninth to seventh in the SecondsOut super featherweight rankings. Juan Carlos Burgos and Diego Magdaleno each fell one ranking.
Also on the card, Khabib Allakhverdiev lost his title to Jessie Vargas in a twelve round WBA light welterweight title bout. Vargas edged the champion by margins of 117-111 and 115-113 twice. Vargas picked up his first world title as a professional and improved his record to 24-0 (9). Allakhverdiev fell to 19-1 (9).
Vargas entered the SecondsOut junior welterweight rankings at number nine. Vargas was previously ranked in the top ten at welterweight by SecondsOut. Allakhverdiev fell from ninth to tenth. Cesar Rene Cuenca again stepped out of the top ten for the time being.

On Wednesday, April 16, at Barker Hangar, Santa Monica, California, USA, Hassan N?Dam N?Jikam won a unanimous decision over Fernando Zuniga in a ten round super middleweight bout. N?Jikam won 100-90 on all three judges? cards. He raised his record to 30-1 (18). Zuniga fell to 26-9-1 (23).
Hassan N?Jikam N?Dam climbed from ninth to eighth in the SecondsOut middleweight rankings last week and affirmed that move with a solid showing.
On Saturday, April 19, at the D.C. Armory in Washington, D.C., USA, Bernard Hopkins unified the IBF and WBA light heavyweight titles with a twelve round split decision over Beibut Shumenov. Hopkins controlled the action from start to finish and dropped Shumenov in the eleventh round. Hopkins, now the oldest man in boxing to unify two world titles, improved his dossier to 55-6-2 (32). Shumenov fell to 14-2 (9).
Hopkins climbed from third to second in the SecondsOut light heavyweight rankings. Sergey Kovalev dipped from second to third. Shumenov exited the top ten after the loss. Isaac Chilemba climbed back into the top ten at the ten spot.
Also on the card, Shawn Porter scored a fourth round TKO of Paulie Malignaggi in an IBF welterweight title bout. The time of the stoppage came at the 1:14 mark. Porter made the first defense of his title and raised his record to 24-0-1 (15). Malignaggi fell to 33-6 (7) with his future uncertain.
Porter climbed from sixth to fourth in the SecondsOut welterweight rankings. Kell Brook and Robert Guerrero fell to fifth and sixth respectively.
Also on the card, Peter Quillin defended his WBO middleweight title with a lopsided unanimous decision over Lucas Konecny in a twelve round bout. Quillin defended his belt for the third time and lifted his ledger to 31-0 (22). Konecny fell to 50-5 (23) and ponders retirement.
Quillin remained SecondsOut?s number six ranked middleweight.
Also on this date, at Phones 4U Arena, Manchester, Lancashire, United Kingdom, Scott Quigg scored a second round TKO of Tshifhiwa Munyai in WBA super bantamweight title bout. The end came at the 1:56 mark. Munyai hit the canvas in the first and second round. Quigg moved to 28-0-2 (22) in making his third title defense. Munyai fell to 24-3-1 (12).
Quigg kept his number six standing among SecondsOut?s top-rated 122-pounders.
Also on the move, Anthony Crolla climbed into the SecondsOut lightweight rankings with his recent stoppage of John Murray. Crolla entered at tenth. Hank Lundy exited to make room.
