GENERAL SANTOS CITY — When asked how good is Mexican Jorge Solis, Manny Pacquiao just came up with a wide grin.
Without saying a word, he began imitating Solis’ moves even though there was not enough space inside his library on the second floor of his mansion that housed his trophies, pictures and other memorabilia.
Pacquiao put on a stance, threw a punch and took a backward step. Then he smiled again as if he had flattened the Mexican with that punch.
“He is unbeaten and has a good record so I assume he can punch,” said Pacquiao, again with that funny look on his face.
Pacquiao is slated to leave for the US anytime this week to resume his training at the Wild Card under Justin Fortune, who will fill the position left by Freddie Roach.
But Pacquiao’s supporters believe the reason why the fighter has opted to delay his trip is because he could handle Solis without working out a sweat.
But a key member of Team Pacquiao who requested not to be named said he worries about the boxer’s frame of mind because o
f the fighter’s political plans. “He might be there in LA physically, but psychologically he’s here,” said the Pacquiao insider.
Well, that is his call, he’s the boss, he said.
