Pacquiao training hard!

Manny Pacquiao has a message to those who are eagerly awaiting for his arrival at the Wild Card in Hollywood. “I am deep in training,” said Pacquiao after working out Friday afternoon in General Santos City in preparation for his April 14 duel with unbeaten Mexican Jorge Solis in San Antonio, Texas. The Filipino southpaw has been so immersed in training that his three-time-a-week sparring sessions should escalate by the end of the week when he works out for eight rounds with Jesar Ancahas and Aaron Melgarejo. “Our sparring rounds are increasing,” Nonoy Neri, one of Pacquiao’s training assistants told Fightnews. Pacquiao has shown tremendous improvement the past few days that during his sparring with Ancahas on Thursday, he sent his lightweight sparring partner down on the floor with a wicked left uppercut. Even long-time Pacquiao benefactor Rey Golingan attests to the fine showing Pacquiao has been displaying the past several days. “Manny makes it a point to train daily,” said Golingan, who hopes to make a return trip to San Antonio next month. Golingan was at ringside when Pacquiao rose to prominence with an incredible 11th-round stoppage of Marco Antonio Barrera in Nov. 2003. As for Pacquiao’s departure for Los Angeles, Neri said they are scheduled to go there on March 17.
