WBA Middleweight Champion Gennady Golovkin enjoyed breakthrough success in 2013, and seems to be destined for even greater mainstream recognition throughout the 2014 boxing calendar year.
Triple G’s promoter, K2 Promotions, and Top Rank, Inc, are busy negotiating a potential July 19th clash between former WBC 160 pound champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and the undefeated “Kazakh ring surgeon”, which could be announced this Saturday night during the big “Pacquiao/Bradley II” PPV broadcast.
Because many fight fans and fighters alike have had some degree of difficulty fully understanding several of Triple G’s best HBO post-fight sound bites, the good people at “Fight Saga – Translate” have unscrambled Gennady’s encrypted code and interpreted the meaning behind some of the current WBA Champ’s messages. “You’re serious? You’re serious? Yeah, I’m serious!!”
Translation: Are you a dedicated fighter who is earnest and sincere about improving your abilities due to a personal and authentic reverence for the sport? Are you an athlete who is willing to sacrifice your mind, body, and soul to give the fight fans in attendance the best possible product for their hard earned dollar? Affirmative…I am a committed, ring technician who is always looking to enhance my technical prowess out of respect and genuine affection for the sport of boxing and the discipline of pugilism. “He’s good boy!”
Translation: Fighter “A” is a tremendous athlete that exudes heart, skill, and physical durability in the ring, for whom I have immense respect and admiration.
It’s important that every ringside observer understand exactly what the hard punching Middleweight title holder is trying to convey to his opponents, as well as his rapidly growing fan base, in order to get the most out of Gennady’s triumphant return to the ring this summer.
Triple G’s astute fight trainer, Abel Sanchez, offers some added insight regarding his fighter’s unique, linguistic talents. “It’s important that Gennady continues to improve his mastery of the English language, because he ultimately wants to communicate with his fans without any misunderstanding or misconceptions,” professes the Big Bear Lake based trainer.
“But we also recognize that his fans really enjoy his post fight interviews and commentary. It’s become part of his appeal.”
“So look for Gennady to learn just a little bit more English, but not so much that it changes his personality and unique post fight commentary.”
