“Hello Good Afternoon, Thank for being here at my training camp in Big Bear. My training team and I are very happy to have people visit us, especially the media. The last seven weeks we have had very little visitors.” Barrera said.

How is training coming along?

Honestly it has been a very intensive training I trained two weeks in Mexico City follow by the seven weeks here and for the most part I have been training hard with lot of dedication for this upcoming fight. We have several good sparring partners one of them is the undefeated Japanese fighter at 135 lbs. and Champion Rudy Lopez.

You like sparring with Japanese fighters and if so why?

I enjoy training with Japanese’s fighter because they have lot of heart and dedication. They have good boxing skill, plus are durable boxers and I like that I been training with many Japanese fighters in the past and it part of my training routine.

You have seen Marquez fight on tape?

I have hundred of Juan Manuel Marquez fight tapes, he is a great fighter will come out punching. Marquez come to fight at every fight but like my trainer Rudy Perez say, it doesn’t matter if you view all your opponent fight tapes a fight will always be different once you step in the ring.

“I walking at 131 lbs right now and I don’t worry about making weight I still have time. I will be ready for Marquez to fight any kind of fight he bring to the ring. I expect to fight Marquez and perhaps one more fight then I want to retire this year. I have done many things in boxing and its time for me to retire.” Barrera said in his closing interview.
