ERIBERTO “Yukka” Gejon will be back in action this Saturday, after a long hiatus.
The one-time world title challenger will headline Manny Pacquiao boxing promotion this Saturday at the Rajah Solaiman Park in Manila against Wisan Sor Suchanya of Pathumthani, Thailand for a non-title 10-round bout.
The lanky Gejon, who had a heart-breaking decision loss to Yutaka Niida for the WBA minimum-weight title back in 2005 rarely saw action as he only fought once last year, an easy second round stoppage over Thai Yoddoi Sithsoei last September in Manila.
Gejon, one of the Philippines’ world title hopefuls, will parade aring record of 22-1-1, with 14 knockouts (KOs), against the upset- seeking Wisan, who holds an 8-4-1, with 2 KOs record.
Pacquiao, who is scheduled to leave next week for his final preparation for his upcoming fight against Jorge Solis of Mexico on April 21 in San Antonio, Texas, personally picked Gejon to top the card, which is co-promoted by Rex “Wakee” Salud.
The card will also mark the country’s first women’s professional boxing bout between Gretchen Abaniel against Baina Londo. (RCM)
