The last thing that goes away from a fighter is his power and Alexander Mu?oz, who is already 35, says he still has plenty of that.
Mu?oz, nicknamed ?El Explosivo?, battles Filipino hopeful Genesis Servania tomorrow night at the Solaire Resort and Casino and the Venezuelan banger has promised to prove he still has it.
?I trained hard for three months and I have lots of experience fighting world champion,? said Mu?oz during yesterday?s press conference, rattling off a long list of marquee names.
For Munoz, age doesn?t matter.
?Manny Pacquiao is 35, while (Juan Manuel) Marquez) is 40 and I am 35,? said Mu?oz, who packs a 36-5 win-loss card with 28 KOs.
Despite being inactive for almost a year, Mu?oz believes he has regained back his strength with the help of a new conditioning coach and that he is looking forward to an explosive showing.
?I feel good with this fight and remember I won my first 23 fights by knockout so I have power. I came here to win,? added Mu?oz.
Servania, one of the fastest rising stars of ALA Boxing, parades an unbeaten 23-0 slate with nine KOs and is wary of issuing a prediction.
?We?ll see what happens in the ring,? said Servania.
In the main supporting fight, King Arthur Villanueva, another ALA prospect, meets Mexican substitute Fernando Aguilar.
Villanueva, who holds a 24-0 ledger with 14 KOs, was supposed to clash with Juan Hernandez, a touted Mexican puncher but he got involved in an accident and had to be replaced.
ALA Boxing chief Michael Aldeguer said that while Servania and Villanueva are itching to fight for the world title, he is not looking beyond this weekend?s bouts.
?We?ll see where they stand after this,? said Aldeguer, who is teaming up with ABS-CBN in staging the show dubbed Pinoy Pride 24: The Future Is Now. The official weighin will be held at 12 noon today at the Robinson?s Galleria.
