NBA All-Star Weekend -- Belinelli is 3-point king

NEW ORLEANS -- Marco Belinelli of the San Antonio Spurs is the new 3-point king of the NBA.

By scoring 24 points in a tie-breaking final round, besting Washington Wizard Bradley Beal, the 27-year old Belinelli became only the third non-American to capture the prestigious plum, following the path of international superstars Dirk Nowitzki and Peja Stojakovic.

"I don't know what to say. For real. Like I said before, I remember when Larry Bird was in the Three-Point Contest and he won again, and now I'm in the same place. I won this trophy," Belinelli told reporters at the New Orleans Arena.

The 6-foot-4, 194-pound Belinelli, who used to play for the New Orleans Hornets and the Chicago Bulls, bested a talent-rich field that included Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving and Damian Lillard. (Homer D. Sayson)
