CEBU, Philippines – WBO Intercontinental super bantamweight champion Genesis ?Azucal? Servania (23-0, 9KOs) needs to make an impression against former two-time world champion Alexander ?El Explosivo? Munoz (36-5, 28KOs) of Venezuela to bolster his chances of a world title shot.
Servania’s ring might will again be tested as he takes on Munoz in another blockbuster sequel of the highly-successful ?Pinoy Pride? card on March 1 at the Solaire Resort and Casino in Para?aque City.
?No doubt Genesis is one of the rising stars in Philippine boxing but he will surely face the biggest test in his career against this guy (Munoz) and this will show if he is really ready for a possible world title shot,? said ALA Promotions President and CEO Michael Aldeguer.
A crack at the world title is inevitable for Servania as he is now ranked No.3 by the World Boxing Organization next to former four-division world champion Nonito Donaire and American Chris Avalos. The WBO 122 lbs. belt is currently held by Cuban Guillermo Rigondeaux.
The 22-year-old Servania is coming off a sensational second round knockout of former Panamian world titlist Rafael Concepcion last October 26 at the Waterfront-Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
