FIVE more exhilarating bouts have been added to IPI?s boxing show this Friday night in the Dalaguete Sports Complex in Dalaguete, Cebu.
Promising boxer Charlie Pucdol (5-2, 4 KOs) headlines the undercard in a rematch with Junie Salogaol. Pucdol owns a unanimous decision win over Salogaol in their meeting last year.
Also in the undercard, unbeaten Keenan Villaflor (3-0, 1 KO) locks horns with fellow up-and-comer Richard Rosales (6-2-1, 2 KOs); Jerry Castroverde takes on winless Junie Villacrusis (0-2); Gary Rojo (1-6) faces off with Michael Kaibigan (1-1, 1 KO); and Carlo Demecillo (1-0, 1 KO) attempts to keep his unbeaten slate against newcomer Prex Cabilla in the event?s curtain-raiser.
The main event features the ring return of former world title challenger Vergilio Silvano.
The 23-year-old Dalaguete native defends his Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) light flyweight belt against Mark Anthony Florida.
Silvano looks to bounce back after suffering a lopsided unanimous decision loss in the hands of Katsunari Takayama for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) mini-flyweight belt in Osaka, Japan last Dec. 3. Silvano saw his 15-bout losing streak end.
Florida is in dire need of a win to end his three-fight slump that spans from March of 2012.
Silvano is 17-3-1 with 10 knockouts, while Florida is 8-3 with seven knockouts.
In the main supporting bout, unbeaten 20-year-old prospect Jhaleel Payao guns for the vacant PBF flyweight strap against battle-scarred veteran Dondon Jiminea.
Payao has an unblemished slate of 7-0 with five knockouts, while the 30-year-old Jiminea is a veteran of more than 50 fights with a record of 28-21-4 with 14 knockouts.
