THE final press conference of Saturday’s “Moment of Truth” will have the protagonists meet face-to-face for the first time, at the Caspian Hall of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino in Lahug starting at 12 noon.
The World Boxing Organization (WBO) president flying all the way from Puerto Rico and Golden Boy Promotions vice-president Eric Gommez and international matchmaker Sampson Lewkowicz attending the conference, will join main protagonists Fernando “Cochulito” Montiel, Z “The Dream” Gorres, Rey “Boom-Boom” Bautista, Jimrex “Terminator” Jaca and Simson Butar Butar.
Bautista, though, is left wondering what kind of opponent he will be facing, after WBC Latino champion Feider Viloria failed to get his travel papers on time.
WBO super-flyweight champion Montiel and his mandatory challenger Gorres are expected to trade predictions today, before they will exchange punches on Saturday in the event held by SGG Sports Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions .
Bautista is set to face his new opponent Mariano Gonzales for the WBO Inter-Continental and WBO Youth super-bantamweight titles. Gonzales is set to arrive on Friday yet.
Before the final presser, a side presscon will be made around 9:30 a.m. at the Union Bank building at the Cebu Business Park with Gomez, Valcarcel and Lewkowicz and Cebuano promoter Sammy Gello-ani to present the boxing “World Cup.”
Union Bank will be the home of the $500,000 worth cup for the next five to six months before it will be displayed to the public prior to the the biggest boxing spectacle that will be hosted by Cebu in late July or early August.
