CEBU–Both Z ‘The Dream’ Gorres and Rey ‘Boom Boom’ Bautista looked menacing in their last sparring sessions at the famed ALA Gym yesterday, as they wrapped up their training in preparation for this Saturday’s huge ‘Moment of Truth’ card here promoted by SGG Sports Promotion and Oscar De la Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions.
The ALA boy Gorres, who will challenge WBO superfly king Fernando Montiel, toyed with former national amateur standout Franklin Albia in a two-round session in the afternoon.
Bautista, who will take on Colombia’s Feider Viloria, took on lanky Reman Salim and Weng Haya for one round each, and also looked ready to go this Saturday.
Early in the day, WBO champ Montiel also worked out at the ALA Gym, accompanied by his trainer-manager father Manuel and three of his siblings.
Team Montiel arrived in Cebu early morning yesterday, and after checking in at the Rajah Park Hotel, immediately sought out the ALA Gym to put on the finishing touches of their war preparations.
Today, Montiel will face the media for the first time in a press conference at the Cebu City Marriott Hotel.
