According to published report, Oscar De La Hoya is not concerned about going with trainer Freddie Roach to replace Floyd Mayweather Sr in De La Hoya’s upcoming May 5th bout against Floyd Mayweather Jr De La Hoya has changed trainers often in career and feels this transition from Mayweather Sr. to Roach will not be a problem.
Quoted in the media, De La Hoya said on the subject: “I’m a pro. I’ve gone through trainers and I’ve learned from each style and I’ve grown as a fighter,” De La Hoya added, “I always said, when I stop learning is when it’s time to quit. I still haven’t stopped learning. Freddie Roach will definitely bring something new to the table.
De La Hoya’s hunger to learn is still a big part of him and he feels he and Roach will adjust to each other quickly. “I’m anxious to learn and I have a great feeling we’ll adjust to each other quickly. I think we’ll click with no problems. I have no concerns whatsoever,” said De La Hoya.
