A recent report out by Graham Shaw, Miami for SportLife, quotes Floyd Mayweather Jr on the subject of Ricky Hatton. Mayweather Jr. who faces Oscar De La Hoya on May 5th, has long spoken about a clash with Hatton, however asked again about a possible future meeting with Hatton, Mayweather blasted Hatton. Mayweather not only dissed Hatton for being a poor ticket seller, but also indicated he could take Hatton out anytime he feels.
Mayweather dissed Hatton when asked about him, saying: “Don’t talk to me about Ricky Hatton. I’ll tell you about Ricky Hatton. He came over to America and only sold 6,000 tickets. My fights sell out in three hours.
Mayweather went further, ridiculing Hatton further for poor ticket sales: “I could go over to England and sell more tickets than Ricky Hatton. I’d stop him as soon as he got in my way. I’m the best fighter on the planet, the top dog.”
Shaw’s report further indicates that a clash with Mayweather and Hatton could happen at last in 2008.
