Will Adrian Broner reap the Humble Pie?

Humble Pie. Eating humble pie is never fun, but when one is forced to, the long term results are beneficial. This is only if the person who needed the humbling actually learns from their mistakes. Will this be the case for the former world champion Adrian Broner? Time will only tell.

So why are so many people around the world so giddy with excitement over seeing Broner lose to Marcos Maidana? The quick and easy answer is, nobody likes big mouth arrogance. Respect is something that is earned in life. One does not get respect if one does not earn it first. Broner created his own wave of hatred by walking around acting as if he has done something in life that warrants God status.

I respect anyone who puts on the gloves and gets into a ring and fights. My respect for Adrian Broner stops with that. In fact, it comes to an abrupt stop! It’s hard to respect a person that shows no humility. It’s hard to respect a person that video tapes himself having sex with people then uploads that video on the internet. It’s hard to respect a person that has oral sex with strippers in front of hundreds of people on a public stage. You can see that act of vile behavior HERE http://vlsportysexycool.com/2013/03/25/video-out-of-control-adrien-broner-dumps-money-in-the-toilet/ if you don’t believe me. Use CAUTION!

Giving money to people is a nice gesture when the act of giving is done so out of the goodness of ones heart. It’s not a good thing when it’s done out of arrogance, and bragging, or showing off. Here’s another thing. If you’re going to throw money down toilets, or throw it at people, it’s probably better to do that after you have a few PPV fights under your belt.

Broner has taken arrogance to levels not seen in quite awhile. Many people have drawn some kind of comparison between Broner and Floyd Mayweather. This to me is absolutely ridiculous. Yes, Floyd has a degree of arrogance, and a touch of brashness, but he does give back. He donates a lot of money for cancer research, and he feeds hungry and homeless people. Floyd has earned a level of respect because he’s worked hard, worked his way up the ladder, and has achieved greatness in the ring. Broner has done none of this, yet wants the recognition of greatness.

If you want to impress people, put others ahead of you. I respect veterans, fire fighters, good teachers, missions, first responders, and people that are selfless. Broner has fueled such hate because again, he walks around acting as if he’s done things that warrant greatness status.

I have a Nephew that refuses to wear the Purple Heart award that he received in Afghanistan. He was blown off of his truck after hitting an IED. Thank God he still has all of his limbs. He doesn’t feel that his injuries warrant a Purple Heart because other Marines that had their legs and arms blown off are the ones that should receive such recognition. My Nephew is a combat veteran that currently serves in the United States Marine Corps. He and all of our men and women in the Armed Forces are the types of people that I respect. They earned it.

Adrian Broner certainly has skills as a fighter. The kid can box, and he can still have a great career if he focuses and comes back down to Earth with the rest of us. When one thinks that they are invincible, is when they fall. Broner got his ass handed to him by a hungry, wily, veteran in Marcos Maidana. Only time will tell if the young man will eat his Humble Pie and reap the benefit, or if he will continue down his road to destruction. The quicker Broner mans up, humbles up, and focuses, the better. If he does so, he still has a chance to get the respect that he so desperately lacks right now.
